RFH YOUTH FOOTBALL EARNS THREE PLAYOFF BIDS

Excellence on the gridiron has become the standard for RFH Regional High School, and our local youth program intends to keep it that way. Three of our teams have qualified for the 2021 Jersey Shore Conference playoffs in the NJ American Youth Football League. These young student athletes have been working tirelessly since the end of July, enduring long hours of practice, the summer heat, and the bumps and bruises that come with playing tackle football. One of RFH Youth Football & Cheer's goals is to produce a program that our community can be proud of, and these boys have achieved that and more.

First up, the 11U team posed a 5-1 division record and earned the #2 seed in their bracket. Most of these boys have been playing together for three years and have developed a tight comradery and strong command of the skills necessary to perform at a high level. A hard fought road victory against a tough Hamilton team avenged a loss from last season and secured the #2 seed.

Next, our 12U squad went 6-1 in their division and also earned the #2 seed in their bracket. That's quite impressive for a first year team! A rain soaked victory over Berkeley early in the season set the stage for the rest of the way. They square off against Sayreville in the first round of the playoffs on October 17th.

Last, but not least, our 14U team, also playing together for the first time, finished with a 6-2 record in their division and earned a first round bye in the playoffs as a result. An exciting home victory over a tough Brick team, and a win on the road versus Sayreville paved the path to the playoffs for our 8th graders.

The RFH Youth Football & Cheer Executive Board and Coaching Staffs of all our teams are extremely proud of everyone's effort this season, which has been a tremendous success across the board. We had 140 kids playing on our six football teams, and another 90 on our five cheer squads. This represents over 200 families across Rumson and Fair Haven participating in our program. We have developed a collaborative relationship with the High School Athletics Department and Football Program, the Recreation Departments in both towns, and continue our mission of keeping football and cheer a focal point of youth athletics in our community. We want to thank all the families who have supported us and congratulate all our boys and girls on a terrific season.
