Rowing Event Makes A Real Splash!

The 2023 Erg Challenge presented by The RFH Rowing Boosters proved to be a smashing success. A dozen ergs filled the RFHHS cafeteria on Saturday, along with a DJ, refreshments and some great merchandise all in support of some amazing student athletes. More than 90 participants participated in a variety of events including the 2k, 1k and 2k relay races with more than 100 spectators cheering them on.

The fund-raising event was held between 8 and 1 and it was astounding to see so many members of the community including middle school students, HS students from several schools and an enthusiastic group of adults as they sweat their way through the challenge. Supporting the boosters were Coach Seslar, Coach Riley and Coach Corsentino (who also doubled as the event’s DJ). Special thanks to Mr. Lanzalotto and Mr Alworth of RFH for their efforts as well.

Overall the event yielded more than $12,000 to support these extraordinary student-athletes as they prepare for their regattas this Spring. For more information about the program, please visit www.rfhrowing.org
