RFH Rowing provides the opportunity for boys and girls in grades 9 - 12 to join almost 3000 area teens currently competing in the one of the fastest growing sports in New Jersey and the United States. The program provides experienced coaches, rowing instruction, fitness training, and competitive scholastic racing for student-athletes of Rumson and Fair Haven, New Jersey.
RFH Rowing, first introduced in 2006, is endorsed and supported by the Boroughs of Rumson, and Fair Haven. Each year RFH Rowing conducts Learn-to-Row camps for Rumson and Fair Haven students currently in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades, as well as racing and fitness programs for high-school students. More information and a link to the registration forms can be found under the Summer Programs menu tab.
Rumson Fair Haven Rowing was the recipient of the prestigious 2010 Victor E. Grossinger Award for Recreational Programming presented by Monmouth County in recognition of our rowing program’s high level of innovative programming.
The vision for the program is to create an exceptional self-sustaining scholastic and community rowing program. Rumson's location, and the determination and spirit of our high school students is a great combination. Our Rumson Fair Haven Regional High School student-athletes race at the top scholastic rowing venues throughout the Mid-Atlantic States and beyond. In 2008, our high school level women’s eight competed in the prestigious Women’s Henley Regatta at Henley-on Thames, England. Over 100 young athletes each year experience the beauty of the Navesink River and the thrill of participating in rowing: America’s oldest intercollegiate sport. High school age graduates of our program have had the opportunity become collegiate athletes at both Division I and Division II universities.
As a public entity, contributions to RFH Rowing are managed by the Rumson Endowment, a 501c3 non-profit corporation.
